The following text is a Petition for Action addressed to the U.S. Congress and White House. Review it with care, and if you share the sentiments expressed herein, please Add Your Voice to those of your Fellow Citizens in Our Call for Action.
I Support the 2% Solution!
I support repeal of all investment income and estate and inheritance taxes and demand that they be replaced by an Annual Tax on Assets of no more than 2%.
I support the abolishment of the complex and variable exclusions, deductions, credits and multiple tax rate schedules which result in capriciously unequal tax assessments against earned income.
I assert that unless Social Security and Medicare Contributions are held in Trust and backed by tangible investment assets (as opposed to the existing unfunded and unsecured promises of the Federal Government) such taxes constitute nothing more than general tax revenues, and the government’s allegations otherwise constitute a fraud against the American people. I allege there is no Trust Fund.
I support abandoning the fiction of separate SS/Med Taxes and establishment of a simple two-tier income tax schedule with a Tier One Rate of 15% and Second Tier step-up not to exceed 30% in aggregate. I demand that Congress acknowledge that SS/Med Benefits are being funded and shall continue to be funded from general tax revenues.
I demand Congress take immediate steps to balance the budget in reliance upon the combined available revenues from the fore-mentioned 2% Asset Tax and Two-Tier Income Tax.
I demand that our Government stop expanding unfunded and unsustainable entitlements. I demand that our Government reconcile its tax policies with its promised disbursements.
I demand that our Federal Government start acting in a fiscally responsible manner.
