I am intrigued by the suggestion that a 2% Asset tax could expand the revenue base of the Federal Government and assist in stabilizing budget deficits without discouraging investment or growth.
I believe that it is wrong that the working middle class currently bears a higher effective overall tax burden (combined Federal Income Tax and Employment Taxes) on wages and salaries than is assessed against income earned by their more affluent neighbors.
I assert that unless Social Security and Medicare Contributions are held in Trust and backed by tangible investment assets (as opposed to the existing unfunded and unsecured promises of the Federal Government) such taxes constitute nothing more than general tax revenues, and the government’s allegations otherwise constitute a fraud against the American people. I allege there is no Trust Fund.
I believe that class warfare based on intellectually dishonest misrepresentations about tax policy is wrong.
I am intensely worried about the impact that existing systemic deficits will have upon our nation and our children’s future.
I demand that our Federal Government start acting in a fiscally responsible manner.
